Great service Sunday and today

Had a really good service Sunday with response and again tonight. Several young people came forward to pray tonight. Praise the Lord. Mikki preached a powerful sermon on forgiveness. I will post some pics after I get them off my phone from the services. Please pray for their pastor, Rev. Enias as he just started treatment for TB. We prayed for him.

We have a service tomorrow night and a ladies Bible Study on Thursday. Please pray for the Lord's leading.

We did take a walk through a Botanical Gardens on Monday. It is near where we are staying. A bird wanted to share our crumpets and tea and a monkey was eying us. It is winter going into spring so mant things are not in bloom yet. Oh yes. We had Ostrich sausage for supper. It was really good.

A few more pics from So Africa

Here are a few more pictures and videos from So Africa. I may not have any more updates until Sunday. Please continue to pray God will lead us and use us for His glory. Pray we can challenge and encourage the pastors from this area tomorrow.

Arrived in Durban

We arrived in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal today. We have a very comfortable place to stay here. We were given our schedule and we get tomorrow off before we start. We sing and preach at a preachers conference Saturday then start at different churches Sunday. We will work at one Child Development Center here.
We finally came out of our jackets. It is much warmer here. Tomorrow will be laundry, studying, catching up on email, purchasing a few things we could not bring and having a cappichino with a dear friend.
God has been good in the services so far. Please continue to pray for us and the services. Mikki's throat is better and we are believing God that she will be able to sing by Saturday.

Thank you all for your prayers. We could not do this without them.
Time to turn in for the night.

God is working

Praise the Lord! We finally got the internet working with the computer.
This will be short because it is 11:30 pm here and we have 2 centers to minister at tomorrow.

We have had a great time at the 2 Child Development Centers so far. Many children accepted the Lord as their Savior. We also had a really good service Sunday morning with children accepting the Lord, some ladies praying with Mikki after the service and some talking to the pastor yesterday and today.

We have given some soccer balls and volleyballs with nets. Here are a couple of pictures.
I'm out of battery more tomorrow.

We arrived in South Africa safe and sound on Thursday. I was finally able to get a phone working so I could blog something however they said I could use this to connect my laptop to this and it is not working. I'm sorry I can't post any new pics til I can connect my laptop to the net.
We have been to 2 Child Development Centers already and many children have prayed to receive Christ. We have started giving out the soccer balls and volleyball.  The kids were very excited. We plan on purchasing Bibles Monday.
Please pray I can get the Internet problem solved. Milk I would love to talk to her kids. Also continue to pray for wisdom and strength.
More when I can connect the computer.
By the way IT IS COLD HERE!!! Glad we brought jackets.

Great day Sunday. Only 5 days left.

We had blessed day at High Country Church Sunday. We did a presentation of South Africa which seemed to be received well. They raised funds to help with our trip. We had a luncheon, water carnival and auctioned a few items as part of the fundraiser. Our pastor, Ken Rose, was the first to get dunked in the dunk tank. Our youth and children's leader, Megan, was next. I would have been last but one of the men volunteered to take my place so I got to stay dry.

We pray the people who attended,
especially the young people, caught
a new passion for missions.

Excited about the water carnival fundraiser Sunday.

Join us, if you can, for a day of fun and fellowship this Sunday.

We are really excited about the Water carnival Fundraiser High Country Church is having for us this Sunday. Some events will start during the service at 10:45 and the carnival will continue during the afternoon.

There will be a dunk tank, water balloons, water guns, splash balls and catchers. And as always food on a somewhat African theme. The staff and maybe some volunteers will be auctioned off for the dunk tank. We will also have a dessert auction after the dinner.

This is becoming an annual event to raise money for different mission trips. This year our trip will be the one supported. We are grateful to High Country Church for helping us with this trip.

We also would like to thank Clearview Community Church, Congregational United Church of Christ  and Grace Church as well as many individuals who are helping make this trip possible.

If you would like to help us financially for this 3 month trip, donations can be sent to High Country Church, PO Box 176, Buena Vista, CO 81211 and marked M&J Africa. These can be made over the next 2 months.

If you would like a breakdown as to the items we need and would like for the people on this trip see the 1st post on this blog "Getting ready to go". This is not all inclusive as we receive requests for things even after we arrive there.

WATER CARNIVAL HERE WE COME! JoAnn is getting ready to get wet. Mikki gets a pass on this one.
