SOUTH AFRICA HERE WE COME
Your
Prayers Are Needed
We leave on our 4th mission trip to South
Africa on July 16th. We will be in country ministering for 3 months.
Prayer partners are needed.
We are blessed to have been asked to return to South
Africa this year. On our first trip in 1998, four years after Apartheid ended,
we arrived in South Africa. Our first ministry was totally in the rural area.
We preached in brick churches and a church under a tree. God blessed our time
with many of all ages accepting Christ as Savior, being filled with the Spirit,
people were healed and evil spirits were cast out. We were able to distribute
Bibles to many who could not afford to buy one. We also were able to buy a roof
support pole for one of the rural churches whose roof was sagging.
In our two trips since then, in 2006 and 2008, we saw many of the same
things happening as well as healed emotions and marriages. We were also able to help them start new churches. It was a
privilege to work with Child Development Centers and supply them with musical
instruments and sports equipment.
This trip we will be in Soweto, Mamelodi, Gautang,
Durban and surrounding areas, and the rural areas of Mpumalanga and Limpopo. We will also
be at some Child Development Centers again. This year we have been asked to
help provide sweaters (it’s their winter), sports equipment and musical
instruments again. We also want to be able to leave Bibles at all the places we
minister this time.
Please pray for the people’s hearts to be receptive to
the Gospel and for us to stay under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Without
Him we can do nothing. Pray that many would accept Christ, be filled with the
Spirit, healed and set free. Also please pray for our safety, all the
logistics, and the needed finances. Your prayers are the most important thing you can do for us. We will post prayer requests as well as updates on the trip and pictures as we can and internet is available.
If you would feel led to help us meet the needs listed below you can send donations to High Country Church, PO Box 176, Buena Vista, CO 81211 and mark it M&J Africa trip. High Country Church, 30275
US Hwy 24 North, Buena Vista is having a lunch and water carnival fundraiser on July 6th after the morning service at noon. Mikki & I will be doing an African presentation in the 10:45 AM service.

Praise the Lord, we have already purchased our plane tickets already with the help of donations. We still need to purchase Malaria medicine, and electrical converters and adapters before we leave. We will purchase Bibles, sports equipment, cell phones, help them with food expenses and try to meet any other needs they have while we are there once we arrive. Since we will be gone for three months we are not sure of the exact expense. We will also have to cover our own living expenses for just a few days while there.
Here are some of the estimates: Bibles - $2500, equipment for Child Development Centers - $500, Cell Phones and minutes - $500, Lodging - $600, Food - $500, misc. - $500 (like a broken roof pole), medicine and electrical converters, expenses during layovers - $400 for a total of approximately $5500

You will be blessed as souls are won for Christ and His love is shown as we try to meet some of their needs.
